Telangana’s Aarogyasri health insurance scheme now covers over 3 crore beneficiaries thanks to automatic linkage with white ration cards. Treatment caps were increased to ₹10 lakh. The government cleared ₹1,590 crore in arrears to private hospitals, encouraging their re-participation.

Reimbursements were raised by 22% to reflect current costs, improving access for chronic illness care like kidney treatment. The lifted caps and robust finances are expected to reduce delays and financial burden on low-income families.

This overhaul has improved transparency and restored trust in the public-private health partnership model in the state.
