Following a PIL on staff shortages and alleged doctor misconduct, the Jharkhand High Court has summoned both the state health secretary and the director of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences to appear in court. The petition raises concerns over vacant posts across hospital wings and doctors allegedly running private practices against regulations. 

These systemic deficiencies are affecting patient services and training programs across RIMS. In response, the court has asked for a detailed explanation and progress report at the next hearing. 

Public health experts say filling vacancies and enforcing professional standards is critical for sustaining clinical training and ensuring ethical patient care in a premier institution like RIMS.
