Punjab Launches 200 New Aam Aadmi Clinics with Digital Support Tools

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has expanded the Aam Aadmi Clinic (AAC) program with 200 new clinics, raising the total to 1,081 across the state. A newly launched WhatsApp Chatbot enhances digital access: it shares prescriptions, medical reports, reminders, and tailored outreach for the elderly, pregnant women, and infants.

Along with the permission of four new medical colleges in Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Sangrur, and Nawanshahr, the initiative also announced a raise in health insurance limits to ₹10 lakh per household. The chatbot's doctorpatient interface aims to reduce visits while improving care continuity.

Officials view this digital push as enhancing convenience, preventing delayed care, and empowering underserved populations. Experts advocate for monitoring user engagement and outcomes to refine the model further.
